You can add a background image to your stationery which appears behind any text or images you have on the stationery. To add a background image, select Background Image, Add Background in the Design menu and the Insert Image window will appear. Once you select your image, it is inserted as a background to the card and is automatically set to be semi-transparent so that text will be visible above the image. Below are two examples of cards with background images:
