You can use the align and distribute tools to precisely line up and arrange objects on your scrapbook pages and stickers. The tools are available through the Design menu or through the Alignment toolbar. To show the Alignment toolbar, make sure that Alignment Toolbar is checked in the View menu.
To align or distribute objects, you must first select all the objects you wish to arrange. To select multiple objects, you can either:
- Hold down the shift key and then click on each object you wish to arrange.
- Drag a marquee to select all the floating objects you wish to arrange at once.
- Choose Select All in the Edit menu to select all objects on one page.
You can select any combination of floating objects, whether they are images, titles, or journals. Once the objects are selected, you can use the menu or toolbar to align or distribute them as desired. If the Relative To Scrapbook Page button is pressed, all alignment and distribution tools arrange objects relative to the edges of your page. If it is not pressed, the tools arrange objects relative to each other.

Makes all alignment and distribution tools arrange objects relative to the edges of the page rather than to the boundaries of the selected objects. Click it again to turn off the feature.
- Align Center
Aligns the vertical and horizontal centers of the selected objects.
- Align Top
Aligns the top edges of the selected objects.
- Align Vertical Center
Aligns the vertical centers of the selected objects.
- Align Bottom
Aligns the bottom edges of the selected objects.
- Align Left
Aligns the left edges of the selected objects.
- Align Horizontal Center
Aligns the horizontal centers of the selected objects.
- Align Right
Aligns the right edges of the selected objects.
- Distribute Vertically
Distributes the selected objects vertically with equal space between the objects.
- Distribute Top
Distributes the selected objects vertically with equal space between the top edges of the objects.
- Distribute Vertical Center
Distributes the selected objects vertically with equal space between the vertical centers of the objects.
- Distribute Bottom
Distributes the selected objects vertically with equal space between the bottom edges of the objects.
- Distribute Horizontally
Distributes the selected objects horizontally with equal space between the objects.
- Distribute Left
Distributes the selected objects horizontally with equal space between the left edges of the objects.
- Distribute Horizontal Center
Distributes the selected objects with equal space between the horizontal centers of the objects.
- Distribute Right
Distributes the selected objects with equal space between the right edges of the objects.
- Move To Front
Moves the selected objects to the front of all other objects on the page.
- Move Up
Moves the selected object up one layer in the layering of objects.
- Move Back
Moves the selected object back one layer in the layering of objects.
- Move to Back
Moves the selected objects behind all other objects on the page.
- Group
Groups the selected objects together so they are considered one object. Below, the bikini, sunglasses and beach tote are separate images that were grouped.
- Ungroup
Ungroups the selected grouped objects so each object can be moved independently.
- Lock
Locks the selected objects so that they cannot be modified in any way. When an object is locked, its drag handles are red to indicate that they cannot be used.
- Unlock
Unlock the selected objects so they can be modified and moved.
Keyboard Shortcuts
Click on an object and use the arrow keys to move the object up, down, left or right pixel by pixel. You can use keyboard shortcuts to automatically position your object relative to the edges of your scrapbook page or sticker:
- Control + Home
Centers the object vertically and horizontally within the scrapbook page or sticker.
- Control + left arrow
Aligns the left edge of the object with the left edge of the scrapbook page or sticker.
- Control + right arrow
Aligns the right edge of the object with the right edge of the scrapbook page or sticker.
- Control + up arrow
Aligns the top edge of the object with the top edge of the scrapbook page or sticker.
- Control + down arrow
Aligns the bottom edge of the object with the bottom edge of the scrapbook page or sticker.
