Design Stationery

You can type your text and insert images right into the main text area of your card. Anything that you add to the main text area obeys whatever alignment you apply. You can center, left or right align images as well as text. Our advanced type styles give you more design options to create your card exactly the way you want it. The example below from the July 2008 issue of the Mountainco Monthly has an shape filled with a pattern at the top of the card, and black and yellow text aligned to the center.

Note: The light gray rectangle represents a margin and will not be printed.

Rulers at the top and left of the stationery help you place your text and images on the page. If you are dragging a floating object, guides appear on the ruler to show you the precise location of the object. You can hide the rulers if you prefer. In the example below from the January 2010 issue of the Mountaincow Monthly, you can see red guides in the rulers to indicate the placement of the selected cupcake.

The stationery editor allows you to zoom in or out to see more or less of your stationery at once. The zoom controls allow you to use the magnifying glasses buttons to zoom in or out by 25%, or you can choose a value in the combo box, or you can type in an exact zoom level.

The Character palette in the Text palette group lets you format text font, size, style, fill color or pattern, outline color, outline thickness, background color or pattern. You can also adjust the character spacing, line spacing, horizontal or vertical stretch, skew or baseline shift. If you have a floating text box selected, you can also adjust the opacity of the text in the text box. PrintingPress Pro Extreme 6.0 includes advanced styles Drop Shadow, Inner Glow and Outer Glow, and allows you to specify the text case.

You can use the controls in the Paragraph palette in the Text palette group to to modify the text's horizontal and vertical alignment, left and right indent, space before and after paragraph and text shape settings.

You can also use the controls in the Paragraph palette to add columns to your text. PrintingPress Pro Extreme lets you specify the number of columns and what type of separator you would like between the columns. You can specify unique horizontal alignments for each column. In the sample project shown below, we have two columns. The first column is aligned to the left, and the second column is aligned to the right. For the rows that have items in both columns, we added Dots column separators.

PrintingPress Pro Extreme lets you match the color of your text to a color in an image or border that you are using in your stationery by choosing Sample Color in any Color menu. The cursor changes to an eyedropper and will sample whatever color you click on anywhere in the PrintingPress Pro Extreme window. The text selection hides temporarily to allow you to select a color from within the text if you like. A preview of the color beneath the dropper is shown in a small window to the left of the stationery. In the example below from the October 2009 issue of the Mountaincow Monthly, we selected the first two lines of text and used the Sample Color tool to match the exact pink in belt graphic. You can use the Sample Color tool to match colors in images, photographs, backgrounds and borders.

The Special Characters palette in the Text palette group allows you to easily add European accents, superscript and subscript, a bullet, fractions, an inverted exclamation point or an inverted question mark to your text. If you are using a font such as Bickham that uses swashes, you can enable the font's swash using the Swash Capitals button. The Character Grid displays every available letter in the selected font. Choose the font to display using the Font combo box or by clicking in text using the font that you would like and then clicking on the View Font From Selection button. A preview of the selected character in the grid is displayed to the right of the grid.
