Pumpkin-lovin party
Bring all the ghost and goblins to your house this Halloween by hosting a pumpkin-carving and apple bobbing party.

Our PrintingPress design starts with a cheerful lineup of jack-o-lanterns at the top of a White A6 card. The party details are written below in the Meegles handwriting font from Fonts & Graphics 3. Send in an A6 Deep Orange envelope.

We created a polka-dot stationery border in fantastic fall oranges, greens and brown for our Platinum design. We used the Colin font from Fonts & Graphics 2 in bold for the text and added a whimsical jack-o-lantern to the bottom left corner. We printed the invitation on a white A6 card and paired it with a Chocolate envelope.

For our Extreme invitation, we used a background image of a candy corn. We used the Charlotte font from Fonts & Graphics 3 in a floating text box and bent the text so that it looks as if it was printed on the candy. We printed the design on a White A7 card and cut out the shape of the candy. If you’re not feeling snippy, simply print the A6 version on a White A6 card. Both options will fit into a Deep Orange A6 envelope. To order the cut-out combination, please order A6 cards and envelopes and add in the comment section during checkout “please substitute A7 cards for the A6 cards.”

The dotted line
PrintingPress Extreme 4.0’s new dotted line border and shape tools make it even easier to create fun, flirty designs. We’ve designed adorable personalized stationery using our Café au Lait stationery using A7 flat and A2 folded cards that will have you sending notes to all your friends.

At the top of the flat card, we created a rectangular band using Extreme 4.0's new shape tool. We set the background to our dotted daisies (pink & brown) pattern and added a brown 8 point dotted line border to the shape. We set the width of the shape to 5.5 inches so that it would extend beyond the edges of the card and then moved the shape up so that only the bottom line would be visible. We created a text box with a brown background and a custom border, and then added the name in white in the Noodles font from Fonts & Graphics 3. For more information on creating custom borders using the new dotted line feature, see this month’s Extreme Tip.

For the folded note card, we added a brown 8 point dotted line stationery border and a background using the same dotted daisies (pink & brown) pattern. We duplicated the text box and increased the point size of the text.

Double the fun
Did you know that one in about every 35 births in the U.S. results in twins? In case you’re one in 35, we created special announcements for when you’ve got double the news to spread.

An adorable image of two peas in a pod tops a flat Scalloped White A2 card for our PrintingPress design. We used the Noodles font from Fonts & Graphics 3 for the announcement and the signature, and then included the babies' names and important information in Times New Roman. We made a coordinating thank you note with the pea pod image on the front of a folded Scalloped White A2 card. The announcements and thank you notes both use our Clover A2 envelopes.

Our Platinum design has one twin’s name and information at the bottom left of the card and the other twin's stats at the top right. We printed the announcement on Café au Lait stationery and lined the envelopes with Avocado. We added the word “baby” in a floating text box in the center of the card in large brown Ryan text and then added another text box with the word “baby” flipped vertically and written in green to coordinate with the envelope liners. We combined the Ryan and Noodles fonts from Fonts & Graphics 3 and the Benjamin Caps font from Fonts & Graphics for Weddings.

Our Extreme design uses a checkerboard design to separate the twins’ names and details. We used floating text boxes with yellow and green backgrounds to create the checkerboard, and added a stationery border of matching green dots. The babies’ names are written in dark green and white using the Ryan font. The announcements and coordinating thank you notes are printed on A2 flat and folded Scalloped White cards and paired with Clover envelopes with Yellow liners.

How engaging
When you get engaged, you want to shout it from the hilltops so all the world can share in your joy. We’ve got the perfect way for you to gather everyone together to toast your engagement with our engagement party invitations.

We used an image of an elegant chandelier in our PrintingPress design for a stunning, sophisticated invitation using A7 White / Magenta stationery. We created a folded 5x7 card, oriented horizontally, so we could add the chandelier image on the left side and the text could be aligned to the right margin of the card. We used a combination of the Benjamin Caps and Alyssa Afternoon fonts from Fonts & Graphics for Weddings. We wrote the couple's names in magenta to match the chandelier image and Magenta envelopes.

Our Platinum design uses A6 Café au Lait stationery. We set the left margin to 1.5 inches to move the brown text, written in Benjamin Caps from Fonts & Graphics for Weddings, farther in from the left edge of the card. We added the couple’s names in green using the script font Noodles from Fonts & Graphics 3 to make them stand out. We put each name in a floating text box so that it could be to the left of the main text’s left margin. We lined the Chocolate envelopes in Avocado to coordinate with the couple’s names.

The Extreme design uses the new shape tool to create a grid of squares in a variety of solid colors coordinating with the Twilight envelopes and Avocado liners. We replaced one square with a photo of the happy couple. Their names are written in Alyssa Afternoon in green and the party details are in Benjamin Caps from Fonts & Graphics for Weddings.

Going dotty
We’ve added new border line types to PrintingPress Extreme 4.0, and the possibilities are limitless. The new line types are available for stationery borders, photo and image borders, even for outlining the new shape objects. If the border shape is rectangle, oval or one of our new line borders, you can add an outline or inner pen that is either Solid, Dotted (adjacent to fill), Dotted (overlapping fill), Bumps, Scalloped (adjacent to fill) or Scalloped (overlapping fill). For all other border shapes, the options are Solid and Dotted (adjacent to fill).

In this month’s personalized stationery, we created a stationery border with the shape set to Rectangle. We used the Outline field to set the outline thickness to 8 pts, chose “Dotted (adjacent to fill)” in the Type combo box, and left the spacing set to zero.

For the text box, we added a custom border with the shape set to Oval. We added a 4 pt brown outline to match the brown background of the text box. We left the line type for the outline set to Solid. We then added a 4 pt white inner pen and set the line type to Dotted (adjacent to fill) and set the spacing to 10 to spread out the white dots.
