 Dressing
up your Thanksgiving table
Place cards and menus are not just for weddings anymore. Add a special
element to your Thanksgiving table by printing place cards for all your
guests. This will do more than just add a touch of class, place cards
are a wonderful way to place young folks together, introduce a newcomer
and avoid any awkward seating arrangements. |

You might think Thanksgiving isn’t
worthy of menu cards since you know you’re having turkey. Here is
your chance to credit your guests who have brought a dish,
or introduce a new recipe to the mix. For example, if your brother brings
the most out-of-this-world mashed sweet potatoes, include a special thanks
to him. Have a recipe that’s been in the family for years? Let everyone
know so it can be passed on to the next generation. Be sure to print an
extra menu for you to keep for your files, or to include in your scrapbook
with the photos from the holiday.
Visit
our online store to purchase Mountaincow's
printed or blank menus and place cards.

Addressing your holiday card envelopes
First of all, congratulations. You ordered your holiday cards, you made your list, you even bought holiday-themed stamps. You’ve gotten this far, now you just need to address them. You’ve thought about doing labels, but you want your envelopes to be as beautiful as your cards.
PrintingPress to the rescue. First, create a mailing list from your address book of all your holiday card recipients. If your address book is empty and you don’t have any other electronic contact lists, then type in your addresses. You’ll thank yourself next Christmas. If you have an existing electronic address book, export it to a CSV file and then, select “Import Addresses” from the Address Book menu in PrintingPress.
Next, measure the envelopes you are using so you can design one in PrintingPress. Add your return address, fill the printer and guess what? Just print and you’re done.

Holiday cards from scratch
It’s not too late to send out beautiful holiday cards this year. Just start with our sample project below, plug in your family’s name and voila! Use regular sheets of 8.5x11 card stock in a festive color or with a shiny finish, print and cut in half. The cards fit perfectly in standard A2 envelopes. You can find a nice selection at any office supply store. Or use our thank you notes and the only thing you'll have to trim is your tree.

Save-the-date cards
Sending save-the-date cards is a nice gesture to give your friends and
family a head start on making travel arrangements, especially if your
wedding falls on a holiday weekend, you’re planning a destination
wedding, or you are expecting a lot of out-of-town guests.
Use PrintingPress
now, and the addresses you select for this early mailing will come in
handy for engagement parties, bridal showers, bachelor parties, thank
you notes and
the wedding itself.
Once you
have your date secured, design an invitation with the location or theme
of your wedding in mind. If you’re getting married at an old church,
take a digital photograph of it, and import it into your design. Select
“convert to grays” from the Image menu for a more dramatic
effect. Platinum users can also select “recolor image” from
the Image menu under the Design heading for sepia and a range of color
tones.

 Backing
up
We suggest you call for a little backup. PrintingPress automatically saves
your changes into its database, but just in case, we recommend you periodically
save a backup to a removable disk. Just select “Backup Project”
from your File menu and save it to a disk or CD. As long as you backup
your projects from time to time, all will never be lost. |
