 Some
bunny is having brunch
Whether
you break out your good china for Easter Sunday or invite the neighborhood
over to ransack your backyard for eggs, we have the perfect invitation
for you. For a more
informal party, use our PrintingPress 2.0 design complete with a cute
bunny and basket of eggs. For the invitation, print on white cards and
pair with Purple
envelopes. Print out coordinating place cards so your guests know
if they belong at the kiddie table. Our Platinum
design uses a green rickrack border and a silhouette of a rabbit on Mountaincow’s
new Confetti
stationery to create a simple and sophisticated invitation. All the
text is placed in a text box in order to fully justify it. This will make
the text line up evenly on both sides. The place cards use the same border
and rabbit design above the guest’s name. But don’t
stop there: You can use these images for other Easter crafts. Print out
a couple of bunnies, cut them out, glue them to popsicle sticks and place
them near the hidden eggs as clues for your younger searchers. Or make
a little note to tuck into each Easter basket.

A vow to celebrate
A
milestone wedding anniversary is a fantastic reason to celebrate. You
may not have the original guest list from the wedding, but get a hold
of the original wedding photo and you’re on the way to a very special
invitation, thanks to the background image feature in PrintingPress Platinum.
To get this and many more powerful design tools, upgrade
to Platinum now. First, use
our template for the party details. We created a super modern style by
using alternating shades of pink to separate the words instead of using
spaces. Before adding the photo, change the information to reflect your
party while you can see it clearly. Next, import
the photo as a background image. Depending on the size and orientation
of your photo, you may need to crop or rotate it. We used a black and
white photo and gave it a kick by recoloring it to match the RGB value
of 101, 66, 35. We set the transparency to 80% so the invitation is easy
to read. Because we used pink for the text, we paired the invitation with
our Blush envelopes.

 Pick
a card, any card
In
the day of voice mail, cell phones and email, it may seem like it’s
easier than ever to stay in touch. Not if you never check your messages,
change your email address often or forget to turn on your cell phone.
So when your friends ask, “what’s the best way to reach you?”
don’t fumble for a pen, just hand them your calling card. Here you
can list the numbers or email address you want friends to use. Using a 3x3
card, we printed our straightforward PrintingPress 2.0 design on pink
card stock. To make a strong statement at the top of the card, try an
ornate font on your last name’s initial. We used Benjamin Decorative
from our Decorative Letters
and Numbers collection. Because it’s not the size of standard
business cards, your friends will know this should stand out, be posted
on the fridge or stuck in the rolodex. The Platinum
design uses a green block with a white tulip as a background image. The
text is also written in white, so when the card is printed on white paper,
the flower and text really pop.

Location,
location, location
Sure,
the primary role of a save the date card is to tell your guests to,
er, save the date, but why not include more details of your big day?
Any information on the location of the wedding will be especially helpful
for any guests who need to make special travel arrangements.
The PrintingPress
2.0 design conveys a beach wedding with an image of a sand dollar. The
date and place of the wedding is printed on a white 3.5 x 5 card and
sent in a Dusty
Blue 4-bar envelope.
The Platinum
design uses a background image of the New York City skyline to clue
guests into where the celebration will be held. The couple’s name
is written in black and all the other text is written in white so their
names really pop. The save the date was printed on 3.5 x 5 white paper
and mailed in a Magenta
4-bar envelope.
If you
really want the information on your save the dates to stick, try printing
them on trimmed down sheets of magnet paper.

How
do I use the Easy Invitations Bonus CD?
To use the bonus CD included in Mountaincow's
new book Easy Invitations,
begin by following the installation instructions to install the CD onto
your computer. For Windows users, the fonts from the CD are automatically
installed into your “Windows\Fonts” folder so you can use
them with any program. The graphics are now available in your “Mountaincow\Images”
folder, and the project templates are now available in your “Mountaincow\Samples”
folder. For Mac users, follow the instructions to manually copy the
Fonts into your System Fonts folder and the images to a folder on your
hard disk; the project templates are not currently available on Mac.
To
open the project templates on Windows, run PrintingPress and choose
Import Project from the File menu and open the folder
shortcut to “Easy Invitations” in “My Documents”.
Select “Samples” and then “Easy Invitations Projects”
to open the project file you want. To add a graphic, choose Insert
Image from the Image menu, click Browse and open
the “Easy Invitations” shortcut folder in “My Documents”
and then “Images” and then “Book Project Images”.
If
you have PrintingPress 2.1 or Platinum 2.1, there is an easier way without
having to browse you computer each time. To open the sample projects,
choose New Project from the File menu and click on
“Create a new project based on a sample project” and then
choose “Easy Invitations Projects” and select the project
you want. To open the images choose Insert Image from the Image
menu and click on the “Book Project Images” folder
and see the previews. To find out what version of PrintingPress you
are running, choose About PrintingPress in the Help menu.
