Ceremony and Reception Stationery (PrintingPress)

Our PrintingPress 6.0 design features the antique wreath with canvas heart (asparagus & rose with cutouts) image from the Illustrations by Mountaincow Wedding Collection. We added the wreath to the front of the Ecru program, using our new A8 Scored Cards. We added the bride and groom’s names in the Benjamin Caps font from Fonts & Graphics for Weddings beneath the wreath and used the new Sample Color tool to match the same bronze in the wreath. We added the ceremony details and members of the wedding party on the inside of the program. We added the wreath image to the top of the Ecru Menu card, and used the new floating image capability in PrintingPress 6.0 to add the wreath image to the place cards as well.

If you still need something blue, check out our PrintingPress Platinum 6.0 design. We used the embroidered damask (blue) border from the Illustrations by Mountaincow Wedding Collection for the front of our new A8 Scored Cards, which measure 8 x 10 when unfolded and are a supported borderless printing size for most ink jet printers. We added the bride and groom’s names using the Isabelle font from Fonts & Graphics 2 in the center of the cover of the program. We used the new Sample Color tool to match the exact blue used in the border. We added the rest of the information on the cover in gray using the Benjamin Caps font from Fonts & Graphics for Weddings. We added the ceremony details and members of the wedding party on the inside of the program using a combination of both lettering styles. We added a single embroidered damask #1 (blue) image as a floating image in the upper left corner of the White Menu Card, with the bride & grooms names and wedding date in the upper right corner. We added a pair of embroidered damask #6 (blue) images on either side of the guests’ names on the place cards.

Ceremony and Reception Stationery (Platinum)

Ceremony and Reception Stationery (Extreme)

For an elegant program with a modern twist, try our PrintingPress Extreme 6.0 design. We filled the background of the cover of our new A8 Slim Scored Cards with the damask silhouette (black on white) pattern from the Illustrations by Mountaincow Wedding Collection. Next, we used PrintingPress Extreme 6.0’s new Colorize feature to change the pattern to yellow on white. You can change the color of the pattern to work with any color scheme by clicking on the Match RGB button in the Adjust palette. We used a floating text box to add the bride and groom’s names to the cover of the program using in gray using the Isabelle font from Fonts & Graphics 2. We added a 0.25 point gray outline to the text and then added the wedding date in white using the Arial font in all lowercase letters. We set the background color of the text box to blue and added a gray 7 point custom border using the new Double Line (thicker outer) line type with the border’s shape set to Ticket (Landscape). Since the pattern runs all the way to the edge of the program card, we used our printer’s borderless printing feature. On the inside of the program, we added a row of single damask silhouette (black) images, colorized to yellow and running off the left edge of the card. We added another floating text box with the bride & groom’s names running off the left edge of the program. We added the ceremony’s events along the inside left of the program in gray using the Arial font in all lowercase letters. We used PrintingPress Extreme 6.0’s new Text Columns feature to list the wedding party on the right side of the program. For tips on using the new Text Columns feature, see this month’s Extreme Tip. We used a similar design on the Menu Card using a custom border with the border's shape set to Line (Top). Since the border runs all the way to the edge of the menu, we used our printer’s borderless printing feature and told the printer that our 4 x 7.5 inch menu card was really a 4 x 6 inch card. We created coordinating place cards using a single damask silhouette (black) image, colorized to yellow and running across the fold onto the back of the place card. We styled the guest name & table text box to match the one from the front of the ceremony program. Since the text box bleeds off the edge of the place card, we used our printer’s borderless printing feature, telling the printer that the place card is really a 3.5 x 5 inch card. We checked the feed stationery bottom-first checkbox in the Print window so that it will print correctly on the 3.5 x 4 inch White place card.

Fun in the sun!
We’re trying to pack as much fun as possible into these long summer days, and at Mountaincow that means grilling as often as possible! So this month we created fabulous new invitations for a poolside BBQ. Don’t have a pool? Neither do we! Grab a chilled margarita and turn on the sprinklers for the kids. All of these invitation designs use images, borders, and patterns from our new Illustrations by Mountaincow Everyday Collection.

Our PrintingPress 6.0 design features the grill image to get the BBQ theme established from the start. We used the new floating image capability in PrintingPress 6.0 to add the grill image as a floating image and placed it in the bottom left corner of the White 4.75 x 6.75 invitation. Next, we added the invitation text in red using the Noodles font from Fonts & Graphics 3. We used the Indent Text Left field in the new Paragraph palette to center the party details to the right of the grill. We aligned the RSVP details to the right at the bottom of the invitation and added the ketchup 1 image as a floating image as if it were writing the phone number. We used a double-stick tape gun to adhere the invitation card to a Midnight A7 card. We lined the Midnight envelopes in Deep Red and added Custom Image StationeryStamps featuring the hot dog image and the words “It’s a BBQ!” for extra fun outside the envelope.

BBQ Pool Party (PrintingPress)

BBQ Pool Party (Platinum)

For a big splash, try our PrintingPress Platinum 6.0 design. We added the tropical fun border to a White A7 card. We added the flip flops (lime) image above the invitation text, written in blue using the Boys On Mopeds font from the Easy Invitations Bonus Content CD. We used the new Sample Color tool to match the text to the same color as the inner line on the border image. Since the border runs to the edge of the invitation, we used our printer’s borderless printing feature. We lined the Dusty Blue envelopes in Avocado and created coordinating Custom Image StationeryStamps featuring the swim mask & snorkel (tangerine) image.

Our PrintingPress Extreme 6.0 design is flexible enough to work for a pool party, garden gathering or lawn luau. We started by adding a custom border to a White A7 card. We set the border’s shape to Line (Bottom) and filled the border with the funky paisley pattern. Next, we added an inner pen to the border and set the Inner Pen Line Type to the new Double Line type and used the Sample Color tool to match the pen color to a blue in the pattern. We added a single funky paisley 08 as a floating image at the top of the invitation. We added the words “Please join us for a Poolside Barbeque” in red using the Isabelle font from Fonts & Graphics 2. We added a 0.25 point outline to the text and set the Horizontal Stretch to -10 and the Skew to 60 to straighten the letters. Then we added the remaining invitation text in gray using the Times New Roman font with the Text Case set to Small Caps. We lined the Deep Red envelopes in Sky and added coordinating Custom Image StationeryStamps featuring the funky paisley 08 image with a blue Double Line custom border.

Extreme Tip

Line things up.
PrintingPress Extreme 6.0’s new Text Column feature lets you add columns to the main text area of your card or to floating text boxes, so now you can easily add columns anywhere that you like. To add columns to your text, just click in the text where you would like to add your columns. If you want to add columns in a floating text box, double-click on the text box to edit the text box in place without opening a dialog window. Then click in the Columns field in the Paragraph palette in the Text palette group. Type in the number of columns that you would like, or use your mouse wheel or the arrows to increase or decrease the number of columns. In this month’s ceremony program, we created two columns of text.

Paragraph Palette

Next, we typed in the text. We typed the text for the first column, and then hit the Tab key on the keyboard to move to the next column. Then we aligned the text in the first column to the left, and the text in the second column to the right.

Two columns

We hit the Return key to move to the next line and typed text in the first and second columns. The third row does not include any text in the first column, so we just pressed the Tab key to move to the second column and enter text.

Additional rows

Once you have added all of your text, you can add optional column separators. First, double-click on the space between the columns where you would like to add the separators.

Select the column separator

Next, choose the separator style that you would like using the Column Separator combo box in the Paragraph palette. The available choices are Dots, Squares, Dashed Line and Solid Line. The separators will automatically space themselves evenly between the two columns.

Column separators

The column separators behave like text, so you can modify the font, size, style color, character spacing, etc. for the separators. You can also use the Copy Text Style and Paste Text Style buttons in the toolbar to duplicate the column separators within your text. Below you can see the completed text columns with separators on just a few rows.
