 Say
goodbye to summer
No
one wants summer to end, but it’s easier to say goodbye when you’re
around good friends and delicious food. Host a Labor Day Bash to face
the fall with fun. Savor summer
with an image of three simple palm trees. We used A6 Twilight
Truffle stationery and printed all our party information on a 4-bar
Ivory card. We
then used a double-sided
tape gun to mount the Ivory card on the Twilight card. We tied it
all together by adding Twilight
liners to the Chocolate envelopes and using brown type on the card. We
used the Benjamin Caps fonts from Fonts
& Graphics for Weddings mixed with Benjamin from Fonts
& Graphics 2 in italics. Our Platinum
design uses a serene picture of two Adirondack chairs in a soft green
to match our Avocado stationery. We printed on a 4-bar Ivory
card. We mounted it on an A7 Avocado
card, then lined the Ivory envelopes with Avocado
liners. We used a mix of Alyssa Afternoon and Benjamin Caps fonts
from Fonts & Graphics
for Weddings, both in the same Avocado green to match the chairs and
the A7 card. By adding the text in a text box instead of simply typing
in the main text area of the card, we were able to expand the horizontal
spacing by one point to give the invitation an airy feel. Go from kick
back to kick it up a notch with our PrintingPress
Extreme design. Using an image of a cocktail in a coconut shell on
an A6 White card, we added all the party information in the Meegles font
from Fonts & Graphics
3. We set the font to bold so it would really stand out and curved
it to follow the lines of the coconut. We paired the invitation with a
festive Magenta
envelope.

Get
down to business
Having
a business card with all your contact information is essential whether
you have a budding hobby or an established career. In addition to looking
professional and prepared, you now give potential clients and partners
a way to contact you. With PrintingPress
Extreme, you can create original designs, print a few or hundreds,
and change them as frequently as you need.
We used
full 8.5 x 11 sheets of Mountaincow’s Ivory
and Avocado
stationery and cut them to size after printing, though you may also
use perforated sheets from an office supply store.
We chose
the Business Card stationery type when creating new stationery
and used the built-in standard business card size of 3.5 x 2 inches.
We set the left margin to 1.5 inches to leave room for a logo. In our
design, we created a text box with the background set to a solid color
and the letter “e” set to white to block out the background
and let the text take on the color of the paper. We added the employee’s
name and the company name in Ryan and the rest of the contact information
in Benjamin from Fonts
& Graphics 2.

Back
to books
Soften
the blow of the end of summer by hosting a fun back-to-school party.
Once the kids see their old friends, they’ll actually start looking
forward to… well, just create these cute invitations for a fun
shindig.
For a pool
party, we added an adorable bathing suit image to the top of an A6 White
Scalloped card. We added the party details below in the Charlotte
font from Fonts &
Graphics 3 in a fun, contrasting green. Pair with an A6 Magenta
envelope.
To really
embrace the theme of this party, our Platinum design uses a background
image of a cool purple backpack on an A6 White card. All the text is
written in Charlotte from Fonts
& Graphics 3 and rotated 6 degrees to the right so it follows
the slant of the bag. The RSVP info is rotated 26 degrees to the left.
Pair with an A6 Purple
envelope.
For a really
cool invitation, we used PrintingPress
Extreme to curve our text around a pair of funky sunglasses that
were added as a background image. We used the Sky Pie font in text boxes
so we could use the Text Shape feature to bend the text around
the top of the glasses and so we could rotate the text in the lenses to the right
and left to fit more party details. We added Pink
liners to the A6 Clover
envelopes to tie everything together.

A
milestone event
Bar
and Bat Mitzvahs are a celebration of a Jewish child’s entrance
into adulthood. Many religions and cultures have similar celebrations
and these invitations can be adapted for any of those events –
even a wedding!
Our PrintingPress
design takes a classic design on Ivory/Ivory
stationery and adds a few modern flairs to create a look both you and
your child will love. We used the funky Beckles Wide font and Circles
(pink & brown) envelope liners to punch up the classic design.
The liners are used in the A7 invitation envelope, the 4-bar response
envelope and the A2 folded thank you note envelope, and all the text
throughout the project is pink and brown to create a fresh, yet sophisticated
and coordinated, style. We added the Bat Mitzvah’s Hebrew name
in the Hebrew font Malkah from Fonts
& Graphics 2.
The Platinum
design combines Mountaincow’s newest stationery colors: Midnight
and Avocado. The A7 Ivory invitation uses a combination of blue
text for the party details in Benjamin Caps from Fonts
& Graphics for Weddings, and green text for the Bar Mitzvah's
name in Ryan from Fonts
& Graphics 3. A graphic adds a subtle line of polka dots centered
at the bottom of the invitation. This design is repeated on the response
card and thank you note. The Midnight envelopes for the invitation,
4-bar response card and A2 folded thank you note are all lined with
Avocado liners.
We created
a twist on our two-tone invitation using PrintingPress
Extreme, A7 Raspberry
Truffle stationery and 4-bar Ivory
cards. For a simple, modern look, we used a combination of the Arial
font with Mountaincow’s Hebrew font Malkah from Fonts
& Graphics 2 on the Ivory card and then mounted it on the Raspberry
card. We added an outline to the text of the Hebrew name to help it
stand out. See the Extreme tip below for more
details on using outlines to create different levels of bold text. The
response cards and envelopes use 4-bar Café
au Lait stationery. Coordinated thank you notes are created by printing
the Bat Mitzvah’s name on a 4-bar Ivory card and mounting it on
A2 folded Raspberry
Truffle stationery.

 Using
outlines for semi-bold text
Sometimes a font seems a bit too thin or light, and applying the bold
style either makes the text too thick and clumsy or doesn't make the text
appear much different. PrintingPress
Extreme offers the perfect compromise through outlines. Just select
your text and click the arrow at the right of the Outline Color
button in the Text toolbar
and choose the same color as your text to
add a thin outline to your text. Once you've selected an outline color,
the pen thickness Auto will automatically be applied to the selected
text. The Auto thickness setting is a percentage of the font
size, so if you increase or decrease the size of your text, the outline
thickness will remain proportional. You
can customize the thickness of the outline as well using the dropdown
menu that appears when you click the arrow to the right of the Outline
Thickness button. Choose a thickness (in points) to specify the exact
thickness of your outline. |
