Summer hot, summer partying
The best part about the summer is not needing a reason to invite your friends over for a party. The best part about PrintingPress is being able to whip up adorable invitations when you have a whim to entertain.

This summer's cocktail party invitation stars the trendy colors of the moment, pink, green and orange. Order our classic line of stationery with pink envelopes to achieve this look, or choose from 8 other envelope colors. Platinum users can print the mod background on white cards and envelopes.

For an extra summery touch, you can create parasols for each guest with his or her name on it. This way your guest will always know whose drink is whose. Use the 4”x 4” place card and then print the template included in the project on the other side. Platinum users can print the parasol and template in one step. Trim into a circle and wrap it around a toothpick or skewer. Cut on the solid line and overlap the paper to the dotted line and tape. We recommend using a strip of double-stick tape to hold down the flap for a smooth umbrella. Then poke a toothpick through the top of the umberlla, and spear it in a piece of fruit on the side of a glass, or use the skewer to stir around a tall drink.

Wish I had your address
Packing your family in a van to drive cross country? Taking a European vacation? If you find yourself in scenic places this summer, don’t forget to write! Before you leave, make a mailing list from your PrintingPress address book of all the friends and family to whom you want to send postcards. Print it out and pack this disposable list instead of your Filofax or Palm and you won’t worry about losing it, or feel tempted to peek into your daily planner during your time off. You’ll also have your friends and family’s phone numbers for emergencies. At the end of your trip, simply toss the list.

Looking for direction
If you’re having a party at your house, hosting book club, or just trying to get your electrician to make a house call, chances are you’re reciting directions to your home a lot. Your friends could fend for themselves by finding directions on the net, but only you know the easiest and fastest way, and just how many McDonald’s you pass on the way to your house. Save your voice and create direction cards from the most common highways to always have on hand.

Use our samples as a guide for clear, easy to read directions. Be creative and import a photo of your home, important landmarks or a map from the web.

You can include a photo or drawing of your home to help your guests know they've found the right place, as we did in our 2.0 sample. Our Platinum sample can be customized with your own street name and highway numbers. Just double-click on the text in the sample project and type in your information.

Once you’ve created a fool-proof set of directions, slip in party invitations or if you’ve just moved, add them to a moving announcement.

Moving on up
Moving homes is an exciting but stressful time. When coordinating movers and phone companies alone is no small task, it’s hard to think of the smaller details like wrapping each individual dish or perhaps even telling your friends and family how to reach you.

PrintingPress makes moving cards easy. Because your names and addresses are already in your address book, you don’t have to worry if everything else is packed. Simply use our designs and plug in your new address and phone number. Print them out on a sheet of letter-sized paper and trim into 4.5” x 5.5” cards. Send as postcards or in A2 envelopes.

Want to encourage visitors? Add a directions card so your friends can start your housewarming right away.

How do I print only the return address on an envelope?
If you're creating personalized stationery for a friend, you will want to just print the return address on the envelope. To do so, you must first set the envelope to a reply envelope by choosing Change Stationery, Change Envelope in the Stationery menu and select the Reply Envelope radio button.
Then click the Layout tab and make sure the envelope is set to Both Sides in the Printed On... section and click OK.

When you are ready to print, choose Print Backs Only in the Print window and enter the number of envelopes you would like to print. Make sure to feed the envelope properly, as described in this month's featured article, A guide to printing envelopes on an inkjet.
