Our PrintingPress 6.0 design gives a traditional card an urban twist with its combination of white, yellow and grey. We started by adding the first name in yellow using the Times New Roman font in all lowercase letters at 110 points. We aligned the text to the right of the A7 White card. Next, we added the last name in grey using the Times New Roman font in all uppercase letters at 30 points. We decreased the line spacing for the last name to pull it closer to the first name. We added several returns above the name to move the name down towards the bottom of the card so that the bottom of the last name kisses the bottom of the card. We repeated the same design on a White 4-Bar folded note card and used our printer’s borderless printing feature to print both cards. We lined the Pewter envelopes in
Yellow and added coordinating Custom Image StationeryStamps.

For a note that oozes in retro chic, check out our PrintingPress Platinum 6.0 design. We added an elegant brocade border image to a White A7 card. The border includes a delicate design to frame the name. We added the first name in lavender using the Isabelle font from Fonts & Graphics 2, and the last name in grey using the Palatino Linotype font that is included with Windows in all capital letters. We added a similar background image to a White 4-Bar folded note card and used our printer’s borderless printing feature to print both cards. For a soft touch, we lined the Pewter envelopes in Lavender. We added elegant coordinating Custom Image StationeryStamps to complete the look.

If you’re craving the bright jewel tones of spring, then our PrintingPress Extreme 6.0 design is just right for you. We used a floating text box to add the first initial using the Times New Roman font at 116 points with the Bold style to the bottom right corner of a White A7 card. We filled the initial with a custom pattern of diagonal grey and white stripes. Next, we added a pink custom border to the floating text box with the border’s Shape set to Line (Bottom). Finally, we added the full name to the main text area of the card beneath the initial. We wrote the name in pink using the Trebuchet font that is included with Windows. We did not include a space between the names, instead defining each name by adding a 0.5 pt outline to the last name. We repeated the same design centered on the front of a White A2 folded not card and added Magenta envelopes lined in Pewter. Coordinating Custom Image StationeryStamps add the finishing touch.

Wedding season…
Our favorite time of year is nearly upon us, and we have visions of wedding invitations dancing in our heads! With so many details to manage for your big day, at Mountaincow we are always happy to help simplify one aspect: invitations! We have gorgeous new designs that you can easily customize to work with your color scheme and really express your personality.
For a wedding with a beachy theme, try our PrintingPress 6.0 design. Our color scheme of Ecru, Metallic Vintage and Metallic Arctic Blue helps conjure images of sand and waves, but you can change up the colors for a bolder look if that’s what you crave. We started by adding a mocha spiral sea shell to the bottom left corner of an Ecru 4 x 6 inch custom cut card. Next, we added the bride and groom’s names in blue using the Isabelle font from Fonts & Graphics 2. We separated the names using the word “AND” with long dashes on either side using the Palatino Linotype font. We added the rest of the invitation text in mocha using the Palatino Linotype font and printed the card using our printer’s borderless printing feature. We used a double-stick tape gun to layer the invitation onto a Metallic Arctic Blue 4.25 x 6.25 inch custom cut card and a Metallic Vintage A7 card. We then mounted the set onto a Metallic Arctic Blue Pocket Folder in the A8 Portrait (no flap) |

size. We repeated the shell design onto the Ecru 4-Bar response card and also used our printer’s borderless printing feature to print the card. We used an inverse of the shell image on the Ecru A7 directions card and tucked it into the pocket. We created seals for the outside of the Pocket Folder using Ecru 4-Bar cards. We created a folded card in PrintingPress 6.0 and added the same design to both panels of the card. When PrintingPress 6.0 prints the card, it flips the Outside Back panel of the card so that the shell will print at the top edge of the card and not run onto the other half of the card. We used our printer’s borderless printing feature to print the card and then used a rotary trimmer to cut the card in half to separate the seals. We used a double-stick tape gun to adhere the seal to a Metallic Vintage 2.75 x 3.75 inch custom cut card and then mounted the pair onto the outside of the Pocket Folder. We lined the Metallic Arctic Blue envelopes in Metallic Vintage and added coordinating Custom Image StationeryStamps featuring the bride and groom’s names.

Our PrintingPress Platinum 6.0 invitation takes a modern spin on a traditional design. We started by adding a 0.06 grey custom border to an Ecru 4.75 x 6.75 inch custom cut card. We added the invitation text in grey using the Palatino Linotype font aligned to the bottom center of the card. Next, we used floating text boxes to add the bride and groom’s first names in grey at the top of the card. We joined the names with a green ampersand in a third floating text box. We used a double-stick tape gun to mount the invitation onto a Clover A7 card. We repeated border and design on the Ecru 4-Bar response card. We lined the Pewter envelopes in Ecru and added coordinating Custom Image StationeryStamps.

For a modern invitation that really pops, check out our PrintingPress Extreme 6.0 design, featuring a Black Linen Pocket Folder in the A8 Portrait (no flap) size. We created the 2.75 x 4.75 inch invitation in PrintingPress Extreme 6.0 using the Label stationery type so that we could print six onto a full sheet of Ecru card stock and then use a rotary trimmer to separate the cards. We used floating text boxes to add the bride & groom’s names in black and grey using the Trebuchet font at the top of the invitation card. We typed a white ampersand into the main text area of the card to join the names, and floated a red shape object with the Shape set to Oval behind the main text area so that the ampersand is blocked out on the shape. We created a backing card using shape objects with custom borders to add a bold dotted design to an Ecru A7 card. You can easiliy change the color of the dots to suit any color scheme. Since the dots run of the edge of the card, we used our printer’s borderless printing feature to print the backing card. We used a double-stick tape gun to layer the invitation onto a Deep Red 3 x 5 inch custom cut card and the backing card, then mounted the set onto the inside of the Pocket Folder. We used a few lines of dots on the Ecru A7 directions |

card and the Ecru 4-Bar response card and used our printer’s borderless printing feature to print both cards. We used the Label stationery type to print a sheet of 1.5 x 3.25 inch seals onto a full sheet of Ecru card stock. We floated some of the dotted shape objects from the backing card behind the main text area of the seals and typed the couple’s initials into the main text area of the card. We used a red shape object like the one on the invitation to block out the black dot behind the ampersand. For tips on working with designs that are covered in floating objects, see this month’s Extreme Tip. We used a double-stick tape gun to mount the seal to a Deep Red 1.75 x 3.5 inch custom cut card and then adhered the pair to the outside of the Pocket Folder. We lined the Ecru envelopes in Deep Red for a bold splash of color and added coordinating Custom Image StationeryStamps.

Floating away
PrintingPress Extreme 6.0 lets you float images, text boxes, shapes and monograms above or below the main text area of your card to give you ultimate control when creating your design. If you are working on a design with many floating objects, it can be difficult to select text in the main text area of your card because you end up clicking on one of the floating items instead. In order to avoid this issue, PrintingPress Extreme lets you disable all floating objects but leave them visible. Just click on the Enable / Disable Floating Objects button in the Align palette in the Design palette group.

The setting is reset when you view another piece of stationery, so you will not come back to the card later and be unable to select your floating objects. Another option is to use the Show / Hide Floating Objects feature, which will temporarily hide all floating objects on the stationery.
