Giving a very custom gift
Personalized stationery is always a thoughtful gift idea. One can never have enough note cards – especially this time of year.

First, make a list of any stocking stuffers you need: the secret Santa you were assigned at the office, or maybe a little thank you gift for your neighbor who brings in your mail while you’re away.

Using initials or just the first letter of a name, design folded notes or flat cards. You can even make a variety of styles in the same color scheme: some using a full

name, a nickname, or even “from the desk of…”. If your brother-in-law loves to sail, import the sailboat image, if your niece adores make-up, add a little lipstick or nail polish.

Make corresponding envelopes with your friend’s return address on the back. Print them choosing “print backs only.”

Once you’re happy with your designs and you have printed a set of 10 cards and envelopes, create a neat pile and wrap a ribbon around them. Wrap in tissue and place in a small gift box, or package in a clear plastic bag, closed with a special sticker.

Keep track of the gifts you receive and the thank you notes you send
The holidays are a hectic time – frequent visitors, endless cookie baking, not to mention last minute shopping. Stay organized easily with PrintingPress.

First, create a mailing list of the friends and family you share the holidays with, or just use your holiday card mailing list. Double click on each name and mark the “received gift” box. Enter a short description of the gift so you can refer to it in your thank you note. Not only is this a handy reminder to write a thank you note, once you’ve written one, you can check the “thank you sent” box. Another bonus: you have all the contact information at your fingertips to address the thank you envelope.

Visit the Mountaincow store to purchase a pack of blank thank you notes.

Annual Family Update Letter
Share your family’s good news in a creative way this year. Instead of writing a plain letter, use photos to keep everyone in the know. Import a family picture, or just ones of the newest members, and type your message below. Platinum users can imitate a magazine cover by using a portrait as a background image and adding text. Write little “articles” about each family member inside the card to share the latest news.

The sample projects will give you an excellent head start and your friends and family will be very impressed.

Engagement Party

Engagement Party Invitations
Planning an engagement party? The first thing you’ll want to decide is what kind of party you’re throwing. Whether it’s a casual dinner to spread the good news or a cocktail soiree where you’ll raise your best crystal to toast the couple, be sure to convey the type of party you’re planning in the invitation.

Want your guests to dress up and bring gifts? Match a super sophisticated font like “Beckles” with Mountaincow’s diamond ring stationery or “Lily” letterpress invitations by Studio Z Mendocino and you’re invitation will show your guests a classy affair is in store.

Platinum users can make a fun postcard by importing a photo of the engaged couple as a background shot. Add text in the rounded “Jackson Junior” font and guest will

know this is a more casual get-together. If you want to print four per page, the card size should be 4.25 x 5.5. After you’ve printed them out, make an envelope the same exact size. Since this is a postcard, make sure the return address is on the same side as the mailing address. You can now print the addresses on the opposite side of the couple’s pictures. Added bonus: postcard stamps are less expensive than letters!

Sharing "Pefs"
Planning a big event like a wedding is often a group project. There are a number of guest lists, a million details, and of course, lots of opinions! Have everyone involved using PrintingPress and joining forces is a breeze.

Once a project is created, an invitation is designed and a mailing list is made, it can then be easily emailed to a friend for approval or additions. Go to the File menu, choose “export project” and save on your hard drive. Simply email the “.pef” to your family or friends as an attachment.

As the recipient of a .pef, save the attachment to your hard drive. Open PrintingPress, go to the File menu and choose “open project”. Select “browse” and find the file.

If your co-host doesn’t have PrintingPress, you can still share the mailing list to confirm addresses, titles and spelling. Choose “export mailing list” from the Mailing List menu and it will save to your hard drive as an Excel document.
